18-43. Only candidates born between 02.01.1977 and 01.01.2002 (Both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post. [including the relaxation as per Para 2(i) of General Conditions]. Note:- For concessions allowed in upper age limit, subject to the condition that the maximum age limit shall in no case exceed 50 years, please see para (2) of the General Conditions under Part II of this Notification.

1 A pass in SSLC Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala or its equivalent. 2 a) A pass in the Certificate of Physical Education issued by the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala. Note:- i) Certificate in Physical Education of Karnataka and TamilNadu states will be recognised as an alternate qualification (GO (MS) No 213/2010/G.Edn dated 1/11/2010) ii) Government of Kerala vide GO(MS)No.247/2011/G.Edn dated 07.12.2011 have recognised the DPEd Course of Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board as equivalent to the CPEd course of the same board. OR b) A pass in the Vocational Higher Secondary Education Certificate Course in Physical Education conducted by the Board of Vocational Higher Secondary Educations, Kerala or its equivalent OR c) Any degree in Physical Education (Regular Course) such as B.P.Ed/M.P.Ed etc. conferred or recognised by any of the Universities in Kerala. [(a), (b) & (c) above as per G.O(MS)No.48/2001/G.Edn. Dated 9.2.2001]. OR d) Ex -Servicemen of Army/Navy/Air Force who possess SSLC or its equivalent and any one of the following qualifications can also apply for the post. i) Physical Training Courses of the Armed Forces (The Assistant Instructor's Basic Course in Physical Education). OR ii) The Army Physical Training Corps Instructor's Course. OR iii) Naval Physical Training Corps Instructor's Course. OR iv) The Air Force Ground Training Instructor's Course. 3 Must have passed the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K-TET) for this post conducted by the Government of Kerala. Exemption:- Candidates who have qualified CTET/NET/SET/M.Phil/Ph.D/M.Ed. in the respective subjects are exempted from acquiring TET (G.O.(P)No. 145/16/G.Edn. Dated 30.08.2016 and G.O.(P)No.206/16/G.Edn. Dated 08.12.2016). Note: - M.Phil in the concerned subject be the one awarded by any of the Universities in Kerala or recognised as equivalent by any of the Universities in Kerala.

(i) Conventional type applications will be summarily rejected. Candidates shall apply online only by One Time Registration to www.keralapsc.gov.in. (ii) Applications submitted by candidates belonging to the community other than those notified will be summarily rejected. No rejection memo will be issued. (iii) Ranked lists will be prepared for above district for notified communities in pursuance of this notification. Ranked List thus prepared and published as per this notification shall remain in force until candidates are advised and appointed against the vacancies earmarked for the above community, but remain unfilled due to paucity of candidates during the currency of the Ranked List published for the post in the following district or three years from the date of publication of this NCA Ranked list whichever is earlier. (iv) The selection in pursuance of this notification will be made on a revenue district basis, subject to the special conditions laid down in G.O (MS) No. 154/71/PD dated, 27.05.1971. A candidate advised for appointment in one revenue district from the Ranked List prepared is not eligible for transfer to another district unless he or she completes 5 years continuous service from the date of commencement of service in the former district. Even if transfer is allowed after five years, it will be subject to the rules in G.O(MS) No.4/61/PD dated, 02.01.1961. But as per the GO(P) No 12/96/P&ARD dated 16.3.1996 the condition of 5 years service is not applicable for transfer to Idukki, Wayanad and Kasaragod districts. The concession will be available only for getting transfer to these districts but not for getting transfer out of these districts. And this condition will be granted only once in the career of a Govt Servant. Candidates already in Government service holding the same post in any one district are prohibited from applying again for this post, but they can apply to higher posts when notified. (v) The Candidates belonging to above reservation communities shall submit application for the post to the concerned district and note the name of that district against the relevant column of the online application. (vi) In case of change in Caste/Community noted in the SSLC Book, candidates must claim their original Caste/Community in the application and shall produce Community Certificate/Non Creamy Layer Certificate as the case may be issued by the Revenue Authorities and the Gazette Notification publishing the change of Caste/Community at the time of OTR Verification for selection to the above post or as when required by the Commission. NB: (i) Rule 10(a) (ii) of Part II of the KS&SSR will be applicable for this post. (ii) Applications of candidates who have claimed qualification equivalent to those prescribed in the Gazette Notification for the post will be considered equivalent only if they produce Government Orders to prove equivalency at the time of verification. Differently abled persons are not eligible to apply for this post. 8. SPECIAL CONCESSIONS REGARDING APPOINTMENT AND AGE LIMIT (i) Preference will be given as laid down in G.O.(MS) No. 50/70/PD dated 12.02.1970 and G.O.(MS) No. 9/78/G.Edn. Dated 21.01.1978 to the wives of Jawans in the matter of recruitment as Teachers, if they possess the prescribed qualifications. Soldiers in active service and those working in Base Establishment are included under the term `Jawans'. Wives of Jawans should select “ Are you entitled to any priority” as yes on the online application and give the details in the space following. Such candidates should obtain proper certificates from the Officer Commanding stating the name, military rank and military address of their husbands and produce the same as and when required by the Commission (G.O (MS) No. 509/64/Edn. Dated 19.09.1964, G.O.(MS) No. 614/65/Edn. Dated 09.11.1965 and G.O (MS) No. 243/66/Edn. Dated 27.05.1966). (ii) First Class Scouts and Guides will be given preference in the matter of appointment as Teachers (G.O (MS) No. 122/75/G.Edn. Dated 27.05.1975 and GO(MS) No.50/70/PD dtd 12.02.1970). Note:- The candidates who are eligible for the above preferences or concessions in upper age limit or concessions by virtue of any of the reason mentioned in Para 2 of the General Condition should claim the same through the “weightage and preferences” link provided in their One Time Registration Profile and give details in the space provided. The applications of candidates who are eligible for concession in upper age limit and who do not claim the same, are liable to be rejected presuming that they are over aged candidates. Upper age limit after allowing the relaxation as per rule should not exceed 50 years of age (see para 2 of General Conditions).
