Direct Recruitment (Only for Scheduled Tribe candidates of Kerala State).

(23-45). Candidates should be born between 02.01.1977 and 01.01.1999 (both dates included) (including relaxation as per general conditions).

1. Post Graduate Degree in English with not less than 45% marks from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto. 2. i) B.Ed Degree in the concerned subject acquired after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by any of the Universities in Kerala. ii) In the absence of persons with B.Ed Degree in the concerned subject, B.Ed Degree acquired in the concerned faculty as specified in the Acts and Statutes of any of the Universities in Kerala. iii) In the absence of persons with B.Ed Degree as specified in items (i) and (ii) above, any B.Ed Degree acquired after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by any of the Universities in Kerala. iv) In the absence of B.Ed degree holders, candidates with Post Graduate Degree and SET (State Eligibility Test) with not less than 45% marks will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates who have acquired Ph.D or M.Phil degree or Junior Research Fellowship/National Eligibility Test (NET). Teachers appointed under this provision must acquire B.Ed degree at their own expense within 5 years from the date of appointment. v) M.Ed degree in the concerned subject recognized by any of the Universities in Kerala is exempted from B.Ed qualification. 3. Must have passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of Non-Vocational Teacher conducted by the Government of Kerala or by any agency authorized by the Government of Kerala.

Note i: Exemptions from SET are provided for candidates who have passed State Level Eligibility Test for College Lecturer, HSET, National Eligibility Test/Junior Research Fellowship, or those who have submitted Ph.D thesis/passed M.Phil as per UGC norms. Note ii: Additional marks will be given for higher qualifications like Ph.D/M.Phil/Post Doctoral Fellowship in the concerned subject. (M.Phil: 2 marks, Ph.D: 4 marks, M.Phil & Ph.D: 5 marks, Post Doctoral Fellowship: 2 marks). Explanation: Non-Vocational Teacher (Junior) means a post where teaching is required for less than 15 periods per week in each subject. Probation: Any person appointed to this post shall be on probation for a period of two years within a continuous service of three years from the date of joining service. Note I: KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 a(ii) is applicable. Note ii: Equivalency certificates must be produced at the time of certificate verification. Note iii: In case of difference in caste name in SSLC book and caste certificate, a Gazette notification regarding the change of name must be produced at the time of certificate verification.
