Age Limit
20-45, Only Candidates born between 02.01.1977 and 01.01.2002 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post. No other age relaxation will be allowed. Note:- In the absence of qualified candidates within the age limit the upper age limit shall be relaxed up to 50 years. But in no case the maximum age limit shall exceed 50 (Fifty) years.
Qualifications
(I)Master's Degree in the concerned subject with not less than 45% marks from any of the Universities in Kerala or a Qualification recognised as equivalent thereto in the respective subject by any University in Kerala. (II)(1) B.Ed in the concerned subject acquired after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognised as equivalent thereto by a University in Kerala. (II)(2)In the absence of persons with B.Ed. Degree in concerned subject, B.Ed. Degree acquired in the concerned faculty as specified in the Acts and Statutes of any of the Universities in Kerala. (II) (3) In the absence of persons with B.Ed. Degree as specified in item (1) and (2) above, persons with B.Ed. Degree in any subject acquired after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognised as equivalent thereto by any of the Universities in Kerala. (III) Must have passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of Higher Secondary School Teachers conducted by the Government of Kerala or by the Agency authorized by the State Government Note 1 (1) In the absence of B.Ed. Degree holders, candidates having Master's Degree with not less than 45% of marks and who have passed the State Eligibility Test will be considered. Preference will be given to those who have acquired Ph.D/M.Phil Degree or qualified at Junior Research Fellowship/National Eligibility Test(NET) The teachers appointed under this provision will have to acquire B.Ed. at their own expense within five years from the date of entry in service. (2) Those who have passed Language Teacher Training Course (LTTC) are exempted from acquiring B.Ed. qualification. (3) Persons who have acquired M.Ed in the subject concerned recognized by any university in Kerala are exempted from B.Ed qualification. Note 2 1 (a) Candidates who have acquired Non-qualifying degrees viz. Ph.D/M.Phil/Post Doctoral Fellowship will be awarded weightage marks provided that such non-qualifying degrees shall be in the subjects pertaining to the basic qualifications stipulated for the post weightage marks for non qualifying degrees for ranking will be awarded as detailed below: Non-Qualifying M.Phil – 2 Marks Non-Qualifying Ph.D – 4 Marks Both M.Phil & Ph.D (Non-Qualifying) – 5 Marks Post Doctoral Fellowship – 2 Marks 1(b) Non-Qualifying degree means the additional qualifications which are earned apart from the qualifications insisted on as essential qualifications for the post. If Ph.D/M.phil/Post Doctoral Fellowship is reckoned as necessary qualification for the post ,Weightage marks will not be awarded for it . 1(c) Weightage marks will be awarded only those non-qualifying degrees which are claimed in the application and which are acquired on or before the last date of receipt of applications. Note 3 (1)The Degrees / Diplomas awarded by UGC approved universities or Institutions established through an act passed by Parliament/State Legislative assembly in accordance with the conditions laid down in G.O(M.S) No. 526/PD dated 17.07.1965 are acceptable for appointment in Government Services Exemptions 1) Those persons who have passed the State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) for the post of College Lecturers conducted by Government of Kerala are exempted from passing the State Eligibility Test (SET) for Higher Secondary School Teacher. 2) Those persons who have passed the National Eligibility Test/Junior Research Fellowship shall be exempted from passing the State Eligibility Test (SET) . 3) Persons with Ph.D./M.Phil/M.Ed. Degree shall be exempted from passing the State Eligibility Test (SET) provided the M.Phil. in the concerned subject should be one awarded by any of the Universities in Kerala or recognised as equivalent thereto by any of the Universities in Kerala. 4) The teachers who have completed 10 (Ten) years of approved teaching service at the High School level in the General Education Subordinate Service shall be exempted from passing the State Eligibility Test (SET) for Higher Secondary School Teacher.
Notes
Note:- The above Vacancy is now in existence. The Ranked list of selected candidates published by the Commission shall remain in force for a minimum period of one year and maximum period of three years provided that the said list will not continue to be in force if a new list after the expiry of the minimum period of one year is published for this post under the same method of appointment. Advices for appointment will be made for the above vacancies and also for the vacancies reported for Special recruitment from Scheduled Tribe during the pendency of the list. Note:- Applications received from candidates other than ST candidates will be rejected. Individual communications regarding the rejection of their applications for the above reason will not be issued. Note 4 Higher Secondary School Teacher (Junior) means Part-Time post of Higher Secondary School Teacher Note 5 1). Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II of KS & SSR is applicable. 2).Those candidates who have claimed equivalency for qualifications prescribed should produce the relevant Government Order to prove the same at the time of verification in order to be consider them as equivalent. Candidates claiming higher /equivalent qualification to the qualifications for which equivalency is prescribed in the notification should produce equivalency certificate from the concerned institution or Government order proving the equivalency. 3). If the caste of candidates is wrongly mentioned in their SSLC book, they should claim their original caste in their applications and should produce community certificate issued from the revenue authority concerned and the Gazette Notification to prove the same at the time of certificate verification. 11 Paragraphs two, three and twenty five (except the conditions laid down in the Rule 3 (C) of Part II of the kerala State and Subordinate Service Rules) are not applicable to this selection. 12 Appointment are made on the basis of the rank secured in the ranked list of candidates prepared in pursuance of this notification subject to the conditions laid down in G.O.(P) No. 21/76/PD dated, 17.01.1976 and G.O.(P) No.25/94/GAD dated, 22.01.1994 allowing special reservations to Scheduled Tribes in accordance with the procedures made for this purpose from time to time and subject to the rules under sections 3(c), 17(a), 17(b) of Part II of Kerala State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1958. 13 If written/OMR/Online Test is conducted as part of this selection, candidates shall submit a confirmation for writing the examination through their One Time Registration profile . Such candidates alone can generate and download the Admission Tickets in the last 15 days till the date of Test. The applications of candidates who do not submit confirmation within the stipulated period, will be rejected absolutely. The period regarding the submission of confirmation and the availability of Admission Tickets will be published in the Examination Calendar itself. Information in this regard will be given to the candidates in their respective profiles and in the mobile phone number registered in it. 14 As per Rule 22 of the KPSC Rules of Procedure 1976 appropriate disciplinary action will be taken against those candidates who submit application for the post with false claims of possession of prescribed qualification,experience etc and give confirmation for examination, irrespective of whether they have appeared for the examination or not.
