(23-40). Candidates should be born between 02.01.1982 and 01.01.1999 (both dates included). SC, ST, and Other Backward Communities are eligible for usual age relaxation. (For age relaxation rules, see Part II, Paragraph 2 of the General Conditions).

1. Must have acquired a Post Graduate Degree in the concerned subject with not less than 50% marks from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in the respective subject by any University in Kerala. Note: SC/ST and differently abled candidates are eligible for 5% marks relaxation for Post Graduate Degree as per G.O.(Ms).No.288/15/Gl.Edn. dated 13.11.2015. 2. i) Must have acquired a B.Ed. Degree in the concerned subject after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by any University in Kerala. ii) In the absence of persons with B.Ed. Degree in the concerned subject, B.Ed. Degree in the concerned faculty as specified in the Acts and Statutes of any of the Universities in Kerala. iii) In the absence of persons with B.Ed. Degree as specified in items (i) and (ii) above, any person who has acquired the B.Ed. Degree in any subject after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by any of the Universities in Kerala. 3. Must have passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of Non-Vocational Teacher conducted by the Government of Kerala or by any agency authorized by the Government of Kerala.

Note 1: 3% of vacancies are reserved for differently abled candidates (Loco-motor Disability/Cerebral Palsy, Low Vision, Hearing Impairment) as per G.O (P) No. 5/2019/SJD dated 07-05-2019. Note 2: Candidates who have acquired M.Ed. in the concerned subject recognized by any of the Universities in Kerala through a regular course of study are exempted from the B.Ed. qualification. Note 3: Additional marks will be given for Ph.D/M.Phil/Post Doctoral Fellowship for the basic qualification. (M.Phil: 2 marks, Ph.D: 4 marks, M.Phil & Ph.D: 5 marks, Post Doctoral Fellowship: 2 marks). Note 4: Candidates claiming equivalence of qualification should produce the Government Order proving the equivalence at the time of verification. Note 5: Candidates claiming caste/community in the application which differs from the SSLC book must produce a Gazette notification regarding the change of name/caste along with the caste certificate at the time of verification. Note 6: KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 a(ii) is applicable. Exemptions: Various exemptions from the State Eligibility Test (SET) are provided for candidates who have passed the College Lecturer SET, Higher Secondary SET, National Eligibility Test (NET), Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), or those who have acquired Ph.D/M.Phil/M.Ed. as per specified conditions. Explanation: Non-Vocational Teacher means a post where the teacher has to teach 15 periods or more per week in each subject. Probation: Every person appointed to this post shall be on probation for a period of two years within a continuous service of three years.
