(23-40). Candidates should be born between 02.01.1982 and 01.01.1999 (both dates included). SC/ST and other backward communities are eligible for usual age relaxation. (Refer to the second paragraph of the general conditions regarding age relaxation).

1. Must have passed Post Graduate Degree in the concerned subject with not less than 50% marks from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in the respective subject by any University in Kerala. Note: SC/ST and differently abled candidates are eligible for 5% marks relaxation for Post Graduate Degree as per G.O.(Ms).No.288/15/Gl.Edn. dated 13.11.2015. 2. i) Must have passed B.Ed Degree in the concerned subject acquired after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by any University in Kerala. ii) In the absence of persons with B.Ed Degree in the concerned subject, B.Ed Degree acquired in the concerned faculty as specified in the Acts and Statutes of any of the Universities in Kerala will be considered. iii) In the absence of persons with B.Ed Degree as specified in items (i) and (ii) above, persons with B.Ed Degree in any subject acquired after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by any of the Universities in Kerala will be considered. 3. Must have passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of Non-Vocational Teacher conducted by Government of Kerala or by any agency authorized by the Government of Kerala.

Note 1: 3% of vacancies are reserved for differently abled candidates (Loco-motor Disability/Cerebral Palsy, Low Vision, Hearing Impairment) as per G.O (P) No. 5/2019/SJD dated 07-05-2019. Note 2: M.Ed degree in the concerned subject recognized by any University in Kerala is exempted from the B.Ed qualification. Note 3: Additional marks will be given for Ph.D/M.Phil/Post Doctoral Fellowship in the concerned subject. (M.Phil - 2 marks, Ph.D - 4 marks, M.Phil & Ph.D - 5 marks, Post Doctoral Fellowship - 2 marks). Note 4: Candidates claiming equivalence for the qualification must produce the Government Order proving the equivalence at the time of verification. Note 5: Candidates claiming reservation must produce Non-Creamy Layer/Caste certificate along with Gazette notification if there is a difference in caste name in SSLC book. Note 6: KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 a(ii) is applicable. Exemptions: Candidates who have passed State Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of College Lecturer, Higher Secondary School Teacher, or those who have passed National Eligibility Test (NET) or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) are exempted from SET. Ph.D/M.Phil/M.Ed holders are exempted from SET subject to conditions. Ph.D thesis submitted candidates are exempted from SET for the period as per UGC norms. Explanation: Non-Vocational Teacher means a post where teaching is required for 15 periods or more per week in each subject. Probation: Two years of probation within a continuous period of three years of service.
