Direct Recruitment (From among candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste). In the absence of qualified candidates from among Scheduled Castes those belonging to Scheduled Tribes will be considered. Age Limit
20-41. [Only candidates born between 02.01.1973 and 01.01.1994 (both dates included) are eligible to apply. The upper age limit mentioned above includes the usual relaxation applicable. For other conditions regarding age relaxations, please see Para (2) except para 2(i) of part 2 of the General conditions.
Qualifications
a. Essential: Post Graduate Degree in Chemistry with not less than 50% marks from a recognised University. b. Preferential : 1 M.Phil Degree in Chemistry from a recognised University. 2 Two years Research/Analytical experience in Chemistry from a recognised Institution.

Note:- The above vacancy is now in existence. The Ranked list published as per this notification will be valid until candidates are advised and appointed against the vacancies earmarked for the above community but remain unfilled due to the paucity of candidates during the currency of the Ranked list published on 01.08.2012 for the post (Category No. 171/2009) Must be certified to possess the visual standards specified below with/without glasses by a Medical Officer of or above the rank of an Assistant Surgeon. Colour blindness will be a disqualification. Candidates should produce at the time of interview a Medical Certificate (in original) certifying the visual standards specified above (including the field of vision and colour blindness) obtained from a Medical Officer of or above the rank of an Assistant Surgeon. Training: 1. Every person appointed to a post by Direct Recruitment shall undergo 6 months training in all branches of Forensic Science in the Forensic Science Laboratory.Any person appointed to a post of Scientific Assistant by Direct Recruitment shall also undergo a training in that discipline of Forensic Science which will be dealt with in the division of Forensic Science Laboratory to which he/she will be appointed/ transferred in a Forensic Science Laboratory or in the NICFS, Government of India, New Delhi or similar institution to be decided by the Government on the advice of the Director General of Police for a minimum period of six months or for such period/periods is required to complete the courses of training in the institutions to which he/she is deputed. 2. A Trainee will be entitled to the following benefits namely:- a During the period of training, he will be entitled to draw an amount equal to the minimum of the scale of pay of the post and the usual allowances. b He will be eligible for Traveling Allowances for to and fro journeys and journeys incidental to the training at the rates admissible to the officers drawing pay at the minimum of the scale of pay under Kerala Service Rules. c He will be eligible for any other allowances, if any, which Government may by General or Special Orders, sanction to officers deputed for travelling at the rates as may be specified by Government. d The period of training and transit will be treated as on duty under Rule 12 (7) (iii) Part I Kerala Service Rules. Probation: Every person appointed to the post shall on completion of training, be on probation for a total period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years. Test : Every person appointed to the post shall within the period of probation pass the Account Test (Lower) or the Account Test for Executive Officers (Kerala) if he has not already passed the test. Bond : Every person appointed to the post shall execute a Bond in such a form as may be prescribed by the Government to serve the State Government for a minimum period of 5 years, after completion of training, and in the event of his failure to serve the Government, he will be liable to pay sum of Rs.25,000 (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand only) as liquidated damages to the Government in addition to the actual cost of training assessed by the Accountant General (A&E), Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram.
