Age Limit
25-45; Candidates born between 02/01/1976 and 01/01/1996 (both dates included) are eligible to apply. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Communities are eligible for usual age relaxation. (For other conditions regarding age relaxation, please see Part II of the General Conditions).
Qualifications
1. DM Neonatology / DNB Neonatology. In the absence of the above qualifications, MD Paediatrics / DNB Paediatrics with 2 years of special training in Neonatology. 2. Permanent Registration with State Medical Council (Travancore-Cochin Medical Council). 3. Three years of teaching experience in Neonatology as Resident / Registrar / Demonstrator / Tutor in a recognized Medical College. Note: Teaching experience gained after acquiring Post Graduate Degree as per the rules of the Medical Council of India. *Special training means training received under a person expert in Neonatal care. Since Neonatal care requires special attention, training is essential.
Notes
Note: (1) The period of study of candidates who have acquired Post Graduate Degree through Residency Programme shall be considered as teaching experience for the post of Assistant Professor. Candidates who have acquired Post Graduate Degree without Residency Programme must produce a certificate from the Principal of the college where they studied, stating that they have obtained teaching/clinical experience during the Post Graduate study period. (2) DNB training obtained from institutions conducting Post Graduate courses recognized by the Medical Council of India shall be considered equivalent to DNB qualification in the respective subject recognized by the Medical Council of India. Candidates who have obtained DNB training from Multi-specialty teaching hospitals with at least 500 beds and having teaching units for various Post Graduate/Super Specialty programmes, where one of the three DNB supervisors (teachers) is qualified as a Post Graduate teacher as per Medical Council of India norms and the other two are qualified as Post Graduate teachers as per Medical Council of India norms, shall be considered equivalent to MCI recognized qualification. Post Graduate Broad Specialties - 30 beds/unit - 50% beds should be teaching beds. Post Graduate Super Specialties - 20 beds/unit - 50% beds should be teaching beds. (3) Candidates who have obtained DNB training (in Broad Specialties and Super Specialties) from hospitals/institutions other than those mentioned in Note 2 must have mandatorily completed one year of Senior Residency or equivalent training or research work in an MCI recognized hospital or institution (if such qualifications were notified in the Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations 2000). Probation: Those appointed to this post shall be on probation for a period of two years within a continuous period of three years from the date of joining duty. (4) Those appointed to this post shall serve in the Defence Service or in any post related to Defence in India or abroad for a period of four years within the first ten years of their service (including training period). This mandatory military service condition is not applicable to those who have completed 45 years of age and to differently-abled candidates. (5) Candidates claiming equivalent qualification must produce the Government Order/Equivalency Certificate (if mentioned in the notification) at the time of verification to be considered. (6) In cases where the caste/community claimed in the application differs from that recorded in the SSLC book, a Gazette notification regarding the change of caste must be produced along with the Non-Creamy Layer/Caste Certificate at the time of document verification. (7) KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 (a) (ii) is applicable.
