21-50; Candidates should have been born between 02/01/1972 and 01/01/2001 (both dates included) (including the relaxation as per Para 2(i) of the General Conditions). Note:- For other conditions regarding age relaxation, please see Para 2 of the General Conditions except Para 2(i).

1. Master's Degree in the concerned specialty (MD) or equivalent qualification (DNB) in the concerned specialty from a recognized University. 2. Three years teaching experience or such other teaching experience prescribed by the Medical Council of India. 3. Permanent Registration under State Medical Council (Travancore-Cochin Medical Council). Note: 1. The period of post-graduate studies of the candidates who have acquired the Post Graduate Degree through Residency Program, shall be counted as teaching experience for appointment to the post of Assistant Professor. Candidates who have acquired Post Graduate Degree without Residency Program should produce a certificate from the Principal of the College where they have studied, stating that they have got teaching/clinical experience during the Post Graduate study period. 2. Persons appointed to this post shall serve in the Defence Services or on Defence jobs anywhere in India or abroad, as the case may be, for not less than 4 years (including training period) within 10 years of service from the date of joining. This compulsory military service is not applicable to those who have completed 45 years of age and to the differently abled category. 3. Candidates claiming equivalent qualification should produce the Government Order proving equivalency at the time of verification, failing which such qualification shall not be treated as equivalent. 4. Candidates should claim proper caste/community in the application and it should be noted in the SSLC book from which it varies, and in such cases, Non-Creamy Layer/Caste Certificate along with the relevant Gazette Notification regarding caste change should be produced at the time of certificate verification. 5. KS & SSR Part II Rule 10(a)ii is applicable.

Candidates claiming equivalency qualification should produce the relevant government order along with the application to prove that it is equivalent to the prescribed qualification, or produce the same at the time of certificate verification. In the absence of such documents, the application will be summarily rejected.
