Recruitment by transfer (District wise) By transfer from among the eligible boat lascar, boat cleaner and boat watcher in the Kerala Forest Department, who have been declared to be an approved probationer.

(a) SSLC or its equivalent examination recognised by Government of India or Government of Kerala. Note: Rule 10(a)ii of KS & SSR is applicable. (b) All candidates must have a valid motor boat driving licence issued by competent authority to drive motor boat and must have experience for not less than three years as Boat Driver. Note: (i) The motor boat driving licence, must remain valid through all the stages of selection process as on the last date of application, OMR Test, Practical Test, Swimming Test etc. (ii) Experience Certificate to prove 3 years experience as Boat Driver should be in the form shown below. (c) All candidates must have basic knowledge in motor boat engine mechanism and the ability to carry out minor repairs. Note: The proficiency as Boat driver and knowledge in motor boat engine mechanism and the ability to carry out minor repairs will be ascertained by a practical test conducted by PSC. (d) All candidates must able to swim. Note: Ability to swim shall be ascertained by a swimming test conducted by PSC. The following are the criteria for the swimming test. (i) 50 m swimming trial to be completed within two minutes and (ii) Two minutes floating ability at the deeper sides of the swimming pool. Candidate must qualify both the events to be considered as qualified in the swimming test. (e) Physical fitness. (i) Height. : Minimum 168 cms Chest (Normal) : Minimum 81 cms Chest expansion : Minimum 5 cms Note: - Minimum height measurement of SC/ST candidates shall be 160 cm. But no relaxation in chest expansion of 5 cm shall allowed for SC/ST candidates. (ii) All the candidates must qualify in any of the Five events out of the Eight events specified below of the National Physical Efficiency one star standard test. (iii) All candidates must possess medical standards as prescribed below. (a) Ear: Hearing should be perfect. (b) Eye: Must be certified to possess visual standards specified below without glass. (c) Muscles and joints: No paralysis and all joints with free movements. (d) Nervous System: Perfectly normal and free from any infectious diseases.

Women candidates and Differently Abled candidates are not eligible to apply for the post. Quota reserved for Direct Recruitment shall be 70% and that of by transfer recruitment shall be 30%. The principles of rules of reservation and rotation prescribed in rule 14 to 17 of part II of the KS&SSR 1958 will not apply for this notification. No application fee is required.
